Standing up

3/ Now that you have experienced three very different kinds of poem, try to write a poem of your own that captures something significant about your own experience or that expresses an idea that is really important for you.

If you want to do question 3 as a prose paragraph rather than a poem- that is, of course, perfectly fine!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             My crisis accommodation has been ongoing. Through the rigmarole of the housing department and being told what, where and how to act -in which I”ve excelled to the best off my realistic ability=-I feel totally   unrewarded. I am uneducated but self taught through versatility. I believe there is no point being a master of one thing. I prefer being  versatile in every thing ,great or small                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 I have worked so hard  but without rewards. It is the way society is towards people like my self,. It does not matter how much I try to positively portray myself there are no rewards. Coming from the life I have experienced,it felling absolute loneliness and frustration. With perseverance I have battled against what today”s society says is unattainable for me.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   I have turned my back on all the bad habits of my previous life to STAND UP for a new beginning. I live in hope.with anticipation.

i have written this blog with reference to  THE ROAD NOT TAKEN by Robert Frost.

I am really looking forward to seeing how your blog grows and develops. And thank you for all your hands-on help on Wednesday evening- talk about “being versatile in everything”. 2. Hi Neil,

I just wanted to say that your blog post was an insightful and captivating piece of writing. Insightful because I can feel your experiences through the kind of words that you use and captivating because those words bring out the raw emotion that you have felt for a very long time. A post such as this one makes literature much more fun and rewarding to be a part of. Really looking forward to reading more of your entries! 🙂

    1. Hi marijasimonovska,
Thank you for your also very inspiring feed back. As I’m new to all of this and navigation is the hardest part. Partly because of no schooling I find it difficult to spell and use proper grammar whilst posting and mostly because I don’t know my way around a computer Yes I’m learning as I go. So again I must thank you for your feed back it is good to know that I have people in my corner.

  3. Hi Neil,

I am inspired by the integrity you have promoted through sharing your views with us, I feel privileged reading about the experiences you have encountered, your experiences are a reward within itself called life lessons, this is your journey. I am glad you have chosen to better yourself as a person to promote a new beginning, as we can only learn from the past but we can not change it. Your now creating a new chapter for yourself as the old chapter ends. I hope for a better future too, as a future without hope is dead. Best wishes’ in the near future and God bless.

    1. HI esthertupe,
Thank you for your open and honest feed back. Yes it’s a very new chapter in my life as you have put it. And yes it is so true if we have no hope the future is dead. I’m a man of great conviction and live by a moralistic life style as the saying goes pride comes to a fall. This metaphor has played out in my life time after time but I’ve always maned up so to speak . This opportunity that I have been given I grasp with both hands and learn ,as every day we must incite our minds openly to gain new knowledge, to grow and with that I hope the wisdom of the unknown will be of ease and peace of mind to for-fill all my aspirations and dreams. So again I thank you for your feed back.

  5. Hi Neil,

Beautiful poem! I’m truly touched by the struggle and the pain in this poem. I personally find poems very intimidating and I must commend you for yours. It’s beautiful and your language is powerful. We must face adversity as they come and fight back with full strength and perseverance. Your words are truly inspiring and I hope you continue to write more. Looking forward to reading more of your work.
